Main points;
Ian was the first portfolio holder when bid was being put together
Feels the concept of eco town is a good idea but poses challenges in practice
Bid was put together using the Local Development Framework which looks 20 years into the future
The Eco Town creates a more sustainable community with people living and working in the same town with more facilties
Main reason for Bordon being considered for Eco Town is the Ministry of Defence (MOD) moving out of the area
Believes there should be a referendum with regards to the proposed Eco Town
